Close your eyes and imagine your favourite meal at age 6. The meal you would ask for every time your birthday rolled around (and
plenty of times in between).

Perhaps it was chocolate or ice cream or McDonald's or dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets.
Â
At age 6, did you ever think you would out-grow wanting that
meal?
Â
Now imagine being served the same meal for dinner on your next birthday.
Â
Would you still want it?
Â
Maybe you would. But for many people, the answer is "no".
Â
Because people change and what appealed to us in the past, isn't necessarily going to continue to appeal forever.
Â
The same holds true for our jobs.
Â
The roles and employers that appealed to you as a graduate, won't necessarily continue to appeal to you for the entirety of your career.
Â
And that's OK. You're allowed to change.
Â
But unlike with food, where we get to make new decisions about what we eat on a daily basis, it's only practical to change jobs a relatively small number of times over the course of your lifetime. So, making the
right decisions when you do change jobs is far more important.
