Hi ,
Clocking in at almost 6 minutes and combining multiple dissimilar music styles, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the most complex and distinct songs ever written.
At
the opposite end of the spectrum, Queen's We Will Rock You is just over 2 minutes in length and so simple even a young child could perform it.
Yet, both songs achieved multiple platinum status across multiple countries. And both are still highly recognisable by people of all ages, over 40 years after their release.
Complexity wasn’t necessary for Queen to produce an enduring hit.
Here's the Thing...
Many data scientists feel that if they're not working with the most
complex and cutting-edge neural networks, then they're going backward in their careers.
However, model complexity is not always necessary to produce value.
Just because a modelling solution is so simple a child could understand it, doesn't mean it can't do the
job.
Talk again soon,
Dr Genevieve Hayes.
