Where has the year gone? It seems like only yesterday, we were setting New Year's Resolutions and now it's the 1st of July.
Have you achieved what you hoped to accomplish in the
first half of the year, or have you already written the entire year off as a waste?
Whether you used the time productively or spent it lying on the couch watching Netflix, the fact is, the last six months is time you will never get back. It's a sunk cost, and you can do nothing about it.
The next six months, however, are a completely different matter.
As Annie Duke explained in her excellent book, Quit, waste is "a forward-looking problem, not a backward-looking one", and you don't have to waste the rest of this year.
The real waste is "spending another minute or another dollar or another bit of effort on something that is no longer worthwhile".
